The Two Orbit operation mode is a special storage ring setting providing two well separated, independent orbits, which can be used to store, to some extent, two independent fill pattern, i.e., beams in one storage ring. It is a very elegant electron bunch separation scheme based on non-linear beam dynamics using transverse resonance island buckets (TRIBs), which could be of great benefit for the synchrotron user community.
On 10.-11. November 2019 we invite young accelerator physicists to a workshop on “TRIBs in operation” in the controlroom at BESSY II, Berlin, Germany. We will discuss and exchange ideas and will have the opportunity to experiment with BESSY II.
