European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide range of experimental techniques.

For our Finance and Controlling Group we are looking for a controller.

The position

Advice and support to management and group leaders on budget related matters
Preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports for external and internal stake holders
Contribution to budgeting, forecast and year-end closure
Further development of the reporting system and BI
Further development of the cost accounting structure, cost distribution and pricing
Personnel cost and FTE controlling
Maintenance of controlling related data
Networking with other international scientific projects in controlling matters

Requirements

Master or Bachelor degree in Economics, Business Administration or equivalent qualification
Several years of experience in controlling, experience with publicly funded institutions will be advantageous
Confident use of ERP systems, at best INFOR LN
Expertise with OLAP based BI tool (design of cubes and reports), at best dEPM
Experience in financial accounting would be an asset
Precise and systematic working method
Excellent communication skills
Team player
Fluency in English and German
