The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions, working on everything from dinosaur skins to mine remediation and from cancer treatments to cutting-edge electronics.
CLSI is now accepting applications for a senior Control Systems Analyst within our Controls and Instrumentation Development (CID) Department. CID provides software and hardware for control and feedback across all systems in the facility, ranging from temperature monitors in particle accelerator systems through beamline motors to X-ray spectrometers at scientific end-stations. Members of CID collaborate with scientists and engineers to design and implement software and hardware used to perform experiments, acquire data, coordinate motion control, and operate the accelerator. The Senior Controls Analysts will be a major contributor to the scientific program at CLSI by undertaking technical design projects and implementing and maintaining the control systems software, hardware, and instrumentation on which the research depends. This role and its activities are very much project driven and continually evolve, providing an excellent opportunity for a wide variety of experience.
