European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide range of experimental techniques.

For our Vacuum group we are looking for an

Electronics Technician 
The position
  • preparation and assembly of PLC components
  • installation, commissioning and test of electronic systems in the field
  • procurement of required hardware
  • general electrical support for the vacuum group
  • teamwork within a team of international technicians, engineers and scientists
Requirements
  • completed technical apprenticeship as Electronics Technician for devices and systems or similar
  • knowledge of PLC systems, preferably Beckhoff
  • knowledge in use of MS-Office
  • knowledge of EPLAN Electric P8 is considered an asset
  • cooperative and collaborative personality
  • fluent in English and German
