Responsible for leading in the design, development and implementation of integrated beamline data acquisition software, in close coordination with beamline scientists, controls and data analysis groups. In addition to day-to-day management of the group, you will be responsible for developing, with the other software group leaders, a medium term vision for beamline software that meets the needs of the Diamond user community.
Scientific Software and Computing at Diamond is currently undergoing a strategic review. The outcome of which will be a definition of future direction Software and Computing including a structure for the software and computing groups. This may not include a Data Acquisition Group as is, but will have a number of software focused groups, of which data acquisition will be a part. Hence the responsibilities of this role will likely evolve as part of the strategic review of Scientific Software and Computing.
