CONTEXT & JOB DESCRIPTION

You will join a team of 8 persons who perform the assembly of precision instruments and the machining of mechanical components.

Your primary tasks will be:

  • Machining of components using conventional or digital tooling machines,
  • Processing of subcontracted components,
  • Maintenance of two self-service mechanical workshops.

These tasks involve the following:

  • Analysis of mechanical drawings,
  • Manufacture of complex components using lathes and milling machines,
  • Organisation and rigourous classification of tooling stocks,
  • Preparation and follow-up of parts sent for machining by subcontractors,
  • Ensure the maintenance and give advice on the safe operation of two self-service workshops.

EXPECTED PROFILE

  • You should hold a Technical/Academic degree (Bachelor or equivalent diploma worth at least 120 ECTS) in mechanics and production or an equivalent professional diploma in mechanics,
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar domain,
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings,
  • Total autonomy using lathes and milling machines for the manufacture of complex components,
  • Experience using CN Heidenhain, Siemens and Mastercam CAM,
  • Good knowledge of metrology processes,
  • Rigor and attention to detail for manual tasks,
  • Any experience in the preparation of quotations is also appreciated,
  • Ability to explain and advise users of self-service machines,
  • Familiarity with standard IT packages (Word, Excel, Solidworks),
  • Autonomy, methodology and rigorous approach to work.
  • Basic understanding of English (English is the working language at ESRF)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Permanent position.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
