Postdoctoral Fellow on ID20, The Hard X-Ray (4-20 Kev) Spectroscopy Beamline

Website esrfsynchrotron The European Synchrotron (ESRF)

Ref.: PDID20-2
Contract type: Time-limited contract
Salary range: 45 k€
Contract duration: Time-limited contract

CONTEXT & JOB DESCRIPTION

You will participate in ongoing in-house research programmes, the running of the beamline and providing support to external users as a local contact. You will also develop your own research projects, which should exploit the unique capabilities of the ID20 beamline.

ID20 is a hard X-ray (4-20 KeV) spectroscopy beamline focused on the exploration of electronic excitations in condensed matter systems. The beamline has two end stations; one station is optimized for resonant inelastic X-ray scattering experiments from 3d TM K-edges and 5d L3-edges at high energy resolution (RIXS), the other end-station is optimized for non-resonant inelastic X-ray scattering at shallow bound states (X-ray Raman scattering, XRS). Both spectrometers are state-of-the-art in their respective field. Candidates interested in either, or both, of the ID20 branches are encouraged to apply.
