The RF group at Diamond operate, maintain and develop RF equipment essential for the functioning of an electron synchrotron accelerator, ranging from component and board level to CW amplifiers operating in excess of 100kW. High power amplifiers are used to drive both copper and superconducting niobium resonant cavities. The role is to provide technical support to the RF group including testing of components, manufacture of cables and equipment, together with the maintenance, design and development of amplifier and cavity equipment and instrumentation. The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree or HND level or equivalent with an interest in science or engineering and an aptitude for practical work.
Where appropriate for the role, we will consider flexible working arrangements and secondment opportunities (e.g. for fixed-term contract positions).
